Speaker Bio: Cindy McAllister and Ben Brinton are “The Deaf & The Musician”. They explore the challenges of interpretation and communication by capturing metaphor in lyrics through the translation of original music into sign language. They translate Ben’s originals into sign language, exploring the challenges of interpretation and capturing metaphor as well as useful sign gestures that can make all of us communicate a little better. They have been featured in articles in The Salt Lake Tribune and teach classes about music and how deaf people can experience it.
