Speaker: Melanie Hall

Bio: Melanie is the Communications Director at the Utah Department of Commerce. Prior to her role at Commerce, Melanie worked in marketing, community relations, and economic development in Utah’s higher education institutions for over 20 years. Melanie has also taught as an adjunct professor at SLCC since 2008. 

Melanie is a founding member of Real Women Run, now called Utah Women Run (UWR), a collaborative nonpartisan initiative to empower women to participate fully in public life and civic leadership through elected political office at all levels, appointments to boards and commissions, advocacy, and engagement in the public policy. Melanie has served as a UWR board member since 2011 and is currently the board chair, helping to train hundreds of women to successfully run for public office.

Melanie has a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Utah, and a Master of Business Administration in International Business and Marketing from Westminster University.
